A moving image activation of the original sculptures exhibited in 'The Pusher and The Pull' at Lightbox Museum, Screaming After Edvard (2023) takes its cue from the unending, static scream from Edvard Munch's famous work, and reimagines it as a reaction to the monotonous sphere of female labour in motherhood. Each sculptural activation - reclaiming structural elements from a child's buggy, balance bike, and a mother's baby-gear bag - reveals the unravelling of self and the repetition of the care process and work done by the hands of mothers, underscoring and questioning the perpetuation of gendered relegation to such roles.
